Core Room Arbitration Update

We have finally received the ruling on the Core Room Arbitration from Arbitrator Judi Korbin. Unfortunately she has ruled in favor of the Company. Ms. Korbin's ruling under the basis of the "estoppel argument" is that the Union should not have any expectations of exclusive jurisdiction over the work in question. This decision is extremely disappointing and could open up the flood gates to many more jurisdictional issues. I will be talking to our legal council John Rogers next week to see where we can go from here.

  1. our lawyer that our union went with allowed the arbitrator that had never sided with a union ever and always sided with the company to reside over this issue when both parties have a say in who we get was a stupid move and no wonder we are in the shape we are in !

  2. Just an explanation why we ended up with this Arbitrator. We applied for expidited arbitration and you don't have a choice of arbitrators when you go expidited. If we had applied for ordinary arbitration and an arbitrator mutually agreed upon by both parties we could be waiting till next summer. Our Lawyer did not have an option of another arbitrator.

  4. lawyers get paid win or lose.our lawyer and our exectutive made a bad choice going expidited.our lawyer even wanted more money to hand write his argument, another money grab.we shoulda had a better lawyer that knew what he was doing and waited till he knew the arbitrator wasn't bias - waiting to win is better than hurry up and lose.get new council.

  5. This executive is doing its job...if you think you can do better, run for a position...my God they are trying their hardest to keep membership dignity as well as their jobs...at least this group has the balls to discuss what is needed to keep this division a float rather than risk membership jobs. God willing, we all keep our jobs with as little sacrifice as possible.

Keep up the good work Pete and your group

  7. seems some peoples level of education is showing. get new council refers to the lawyer that the exectutive or union hired. we shoulda had a QC which means a queens council and there the best in thier field as seen by other lawyers and based on other lawyers opinion .
